According to the "19th Century Lighting Company's " web-site, the lamp was made between 1900 to 1905 and is considered EXTREMELY RARE according to their "Rarity Rating Scale".
This is actually 1 of 2 lamps I can find on the entire internet. The other seller's asking price is $5,000
Gorgeous, vibrant red in color, "Gone With the Wind" style lamp with a brass/coppery bronze base/footing and center piece, see photos #9-12.
It lights up on the bottom and top sections, both are in EXCELLENT working condition, come with a narrow, 12-inch long glass chimney.
It is indeed marked on the bottom of the lamp "F G CO" standing for "Fostoria Glass Company" (photo #12) and with the number "948" (not pictured).
It measures a total of 23" tall from bottom of base to top of chimney. The bottom section measures 15.5" tall from bottom of base to top of light bulb socket.
The base is square in shape and is roughly 6.5" wide on all 4 sides, glass chimney measures 12" long with a 2" diameter as measured at the top and 2.5" wide at it's widest.
The top globe measures 31" around in circumference and roughly 9.5" wide at it's widest.
The bottom globe measures 24.75" around in circumference and roughly 8.5 to 9" wide.
